Neuro-muscular Techniques (Trigger Point Therapy)
Neuro-muscular techniques (NMT) are used on 'reflex' and 'trigger points', often described as 'knots'. These are irritable, localised spots that may feel nodular and will be extremely tender. If you have a trigger point you may also find the pain travels to another area of the body. This is because they usually follow the fascial (connective tissue) lines or 'meridians'.

Stress, health conditions, poor diet, emotional wellbeing, poor posture, and various types of injuries and compensatory patterns can be common causes of active trigger points.

Trigger points are treated using neuro-muscular techniques, which involve applying pressure to the area in a specific manner. This reduces the pain and relaxes the trigger or reflex point, so that it is no longer irritable.

NMT will form part of Clinical/Remedial & Soft Tissue Therapy Treatment.

Positional Release
(Stretch- Counter Stretch)

Positional Release is another neuromuscular technique working with the nervous system to reset muscle length and helps to release tension. Known as stretch or counter-stretch, it is particularly helpful in treating acute muscle spasms, where the severity of pain is high.
Positional Release and NMT will form part of Clinical/Remedial & Soft Tissue Therapy Treatment.
