Kinesiology Taping (KT)
Kinesiology taping was originally developed by Kenzo Kase in the 1970’s, but the methods continue to be developed. K-taping makes a great addition to a treatment and can be used to:

-
Manage sports injuries and promote healing
-
Reduce pain by disrupting the neurological pain pathways
-
Support muscles and joints: KT normalises muscle function by helping inhibited muscles to ‘switch on’ and tight muscles to relax.
-
Prevent injury and fatigue
-
Enhance performance
-
Reduce inflammation: KT decompresses the underlying tissue, which aids localised circulation
-
Encourage lymphatic return to swollen areas.
-
Increase proprioception (sense though which we perceive the position and movement of our body), helping to assist with functional muscle patterns.

The application of K-Tape can form part of a Sports Massage Treatment or a Remedial/clinical massage & Soft Tissue Therapy Session.
